Nigeria: Buhari Hosts Super Falcons Tomorrow As NSF Begins Today

Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari will tomorrow host the Super Falcons who won the 11th Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON), Ghana, 2018, after overcoming Banyana Banyana of South Africa in the final at the weekend.

He also said the 19th National Sport Festival will commence today in Abuja with no fewer than 8,861 athletes from across the country.

Dalung, who disclosed this at the end of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo at the State House Villa, Abuja, said besides Ebonyi state, all the remaining 35 states are participating in the festival.

He said the team would be hosted in view of the proud they have done to the country with their weekend victory.

Speaking further, Dalung said at the end of the Delegation Registration Meeting (DRM), 7,227 athletes, 710 coaches, 322 other team officials and 602 state officials have been accredited.

The athletes are to participate in 10 games, according to the Minister.
