Somalia: Pro-Motion MPs Want Farmaajo Barred From Travelling Abroad

Proponents of the impeachment motion now want President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo barred from travelling abroad until his fate is determined in Parliament.

The Mps met in the capital Mogadishu on Tuesday amid heightened political tension in the country following Sunday's filing of an impeachment motion seeking to fire President Farmaajo.

According to MP Mahad Salad they demand that the President should not sign any agreement while the motion is ongoing.

All government appointments to be halted they demanded.

Their demands come as Secretary General of the Somalia Parliament issued a statement to the effect that the motion had failed due to numbers after 14 out of the 92 whose signatires appear on the motion denied having signed the documents.
