Ethiopia: Some 450 Pardoned Prisoners Arrive Home From Saudi Arabia

Addis Ababa — Some 450 Ethiopians released from Jizan Prison in Saudi Arabia have arrived home today.

Upon arrival at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, they were welcomed by Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials.

The Saudi government pardoned the prisoners after a series of negotiation made with the government of Ethiopia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed.

Another 450 are also expected to be repatriated from the kingdom this Friday.

Moreover, Ministry of Foreign Affairs is reportedly working to repatriate 1500 Ethiopians who had gone through risky migrant route to Saudi Arabia.
