Somalia: Somali PM Holds Crucial Meeting With Parliament Speaker


Somali Prime Minister Hassan Ali Kheire has held a meeting with the Speaker of the House of the People, Mohamed Mursal Sheikh Abdirahman, in Mogadishu on Monday night.

In a closed-door meeting, the two leaders discussed the current situation of the country, according to sources privy to the development.

The sources said the leaders reached a preliminary agreement to ease the escalating political tensions in the country.

Among the issues agreed to be review are the motion against President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo, enhancing the relations between legislative and executive branches of the government and a possible face to face meeting between President Farmaajo and the speaker.
