Kenya's cricket under-19 team was the only bright spot for the country in a year dominated by off field wrangles and poor results on the pitch.
The youngsters qualified for the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup held in New Zealand between January 13 to February 3 this year. They achieved this feat by topping qualifiers held in Nairobi that brought together Botswana. Ghana, Uganda and hosts Kenya. Uganda and Kenya tied on points but Kenya came out on top with superior run rate.
