Ethiopia: Ireland Keen to Build Strong Partnership With Ethiopia, Says PM Varadkaris

PM Abiy Ahmed received today the Prime Minister of the Republic of Ireland, Leo Varadkar, at the Office of the Prime Minister.

Addis Ababa — President Sahlework Zewde and Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkaris discussed today about enhancing economic cooperation between the two countries.

Speaking to journalists after the discussion at the National Palace, Prime Minister Leo Varadkaris said his country is keen to build strong partnership with Ethiopia.

"... We really want to build strong partnership with Ethiopia to improve economic opportunities on agriculture and trade," he added.

Appreciating the political reforms unfolding in the country, PM Varadkaris stated that Ireland also wants to promote cooperation in development programs and security issues.

President Sahlework said on her part Ethiopia will work with Ireland to enhance the existing development cooperation between the countries.

She also promised to support Irish companies to promote trade and investment in Ethiopia.
