Somali Prime minister Hassan Ali Kheire has today appointed a committee to protect the public properties. In a statement issued on Thursday, Prime minister Kheire nominated 11 member committee majority of them selected from his cabinet.
The members are tasked to protect and recover the public lands and other government properties.
"Based on the directive from the president which was ordering protection and recovery the public properties left by the central government in 1990 [therefore] we appointed protection and recovery committee," the statement reads in part.
The 11-member committee tasked with the protection and recovery of public lands and properties includes Mogadishu mayor, Abdirahman Omar Osman.
Others are eight ministers from the cabinet, the Auditor General and the Attorney General.
