Kenya: This Is a 'Suspected Terror Attack' IG Boinnet Says

At least 50 more people have been rescued from the Dusit Hotel complex by security officers on Wednesday, January 15, 2019.

Police have termed today's attack at DusitD2 Hotel which left many injured as suspected terror attack.

The Inspector-General Joseph Boinett said that at around 3pm, a group of assailants attacked the DusitD2 complex, which includes a hotel and several office buildings housing international companies, on Riverside Drive.

He said evacuations are ongoing and police hope to bring the situation to normalcy within the shortest time possible.

He said security agencies are combing the hotel to flush out the suspects believed to be hiding in the building.
