WHEN: 7th February 2019

WHERE: African Union Headquarters, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

WHO: The Executive Council opening ceremony will be addressed by various

high level delegates of the African Union.

BACKGROUND:

The Executive Council is composed of ministers of foreign affairs of the African Union, or such other ministers duly accredited by the governments of member states. It is responsible to the assembly of Heads of State and Government. Its meeting from 7 to 8 February 2019 will prepare the sessions of the Assembly to take place from 10 to 11 February 2019.

Journalists are invited to cover the opening session of the Executive Council meeting on Thursday 7th February 2019 at 9:00am.
