South Africa: Cosatu Limpopo Ready for the National Strike

The Congress of South African Trade Unions wish to hereby declare its readiness for the National Strike which will be in a form of a Provincial March planned as follows:

Date : 13 February 2019

Assembly Point: Parking next to Thohoyandou Stadium

Destination : Thohoyandou Police Station and Vhembe District Municipality

Time : 09h00

The following are some of our National Strike demands:

Fight against retrenchments/job losses

Fight against unemployment

Fight against racism in the workplaces and society

Fight for Occupational Health and Safety for workers in their workplaces

Fight for the implementation of the National Health Insurance

Fight against crime and corruption

Our National Strike Provincial March will be led and addressed by COSATU 1st Deputy President, Comrade Mike Madala Shingange, COSATU Central Executive Committee members and our alliance partners.
