Kenya: Hernovation Engagement Framework for Empowering Women in Tech to Be Launched

Women seem better positioned today than ever to rise to leadership roles in the faster evolving technology space owing to support structures laid in some organizations, however, their distinct minority in the tech-workforce and leadership positions still calls for deliberate accelerated efforts for empowerment through development programs. One such programs is HerNovation.

Launched during the CIO100 Symposium and Awards last year, HerNovation is a platform that promotes and enhances the inclusion and involvement of more women into active participation in the new wave of digitization purposed to open more opportunities and accelerate businesses.

It is primed to heighten this momentum by exploring ways and means of involving more men in creating inclusive work, consistent connections and celebrating women in innovation.

Studies have shown that an estimated $28 trillion could be added to the global annual GDP by 2025 if women's equality is advanced and HerNovation prides on embracing diversity and inclusion as a pillar for the People strategy.

HerNovation primarily focuses on sharing experiences lined to explore and inspire talents and continuously close the gender gaps by fixing the realities that women in technology experience in their workplaces. Its key objectives include;

To inspire and uplift women in technology

Foster information sharing and collaboration

Provide leadership skills to women

Boost the degree of self confidence in women

"Steadily, innovative leaps are exponentially breaking the barriers, accelerating opportunities and further prompting more interest and inclusion of women in the tech space that's traditionally a male-dominated tech-space," says Laura Chite CEO CIO East Africa, adding; " Hernovation being a beacon for women in tech, is dedicated to address systemic barriers that have in the past limited women's rise in this domain through knowledge mobilization, cross organizational learning and strengthening partnerships and alliances."

HerNovcation intends to engage delegates through Mentorships, Trainings and Quarterly meetings & Annual conference

HerNovation extends an invitation hand to potential partners who harbor a similar dream in the following industries among others, to join hands in helping women help themselves and the world at large.
