THIRTY-FIVE people have been arrested in Itezhi-Tezhi District in Central Province in connection with the riot that took place on Monday after residents suspected a shop owner of being involved in witchcraft.
The latest riot happened less than a fortnight after another one in which a person died after he was shot, while two others were wounded in the protest that was sparked by the arrest of a witchdoctor.
In this week's riot, the residents looted two shops and went away with various items while two local police officers were left with injuries after being pelted with stones.
