Namacunde — The Cabinet Council will approve this year a new law to re-define and reinforce the special protection regime of former combatants and veterans of the motherland, the incumbent minister of the sector João Ernesto dos Santos "Liberdade? has said.
João Ernesto dos Santos announced this Friday in Namacunde municipality, southern Cunene province, while addressing a central event to mark the Expansion of the National Liberation Struggle, on March 15.
The minister said that the initiative ciomes in the need to change the Law 13/02 of 15 October.
Angolan Executive intends to work on creation of conditions to improve the living conditions of its people, he said.
The minister spoke of the implementation of the actions contained in the national development plan for the 2018-2022, in order to added greater dignity to the former combatants.
He announced plan to issuing and assigning soon identification cards to the former combatants and the veterans of motherland.
João Ernesto Liberdade underlined that the celebrations of March 15 are intended to pay tribute to all Angolan heroes who endured sacrifices for several years during the struggle against Portuguese colonialism that led to the national independence on November 11, 1975.
Some 159,445 Former Combatants and Motherland Veterans get assistance.
