Angola: Governor Calls for Seriousness in Implementing PIP

Ondjiva — The managers of public offices must be serious and effective in the implementation of the Public Investment Program (PIP) 2019, because the welfare of the population is at stake, said Monday in Ondjiva, the governor of Cunene, Virgílio Tyova.

According to the governor, it is necessary that those responsible be able to comply with the projects established in the PIP, to meet the citizens' wishes, noting that the greatest difficulty is related to their implementation of the programs, which has created delays in social and economic development of the province.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of some managers from different sectors, he said that the daily focus should be on the objectives established in the Provincial Development Program, which has just been part of the National Development Plan (PND) 2018/2022.

The Cunene PIP for 2019 is based on 12 approved projects related to the health sector, education, agribusiness, energy and water, as well as actions aimed at social support.
