Nigeria: Ganduje Thanks Kano People for Reelecting Him As He Accepts Mandate

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state who has emerged winner of the just concluded governorship election has thanked the people of Kano for reelecting him once again as he accepts the mandate.

"The success is not mine alone or my deputy's, but for the entire people of Kano.

" I might have won your votes but it is you people that have won the election" the governor stated.

He stated this at a press conference in Government House Kano Sunday evening briefly after he was declared winner of the just concluded governorship election in the state by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC.

He also thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for his support and promised to continue to work with him for the progress and development of the country.

Governor Ganduje promised to do more on agricultural development, free education and women empowerment to move the state to the next level.

Called for calm and understanding among Kano citizens as he promised to continue along the path of introducing developmental projects in the state.

However, he warned that the government will not condole trouble making and intimidation while he called on people to celebrate peacefully and embrace one another.

"Don't mind the blackmailers, Kano is in peace" he said.

He thanked the traditional and religious leaders in the state as well as security and INEC for their roles in ensuring peaceful election.
