A 28-year-old woman suffered multiple injuries when a light motor vehicle collided with hers at the Blackwood and Ring road intersection in the Three Rivers suburb of Vereeninging late this afternoon.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene just after 5 pm to find the woman still in her vehicle. Her 5-year-old child, who had been strapped in the passenger seat, luckily escaped injury and had been removed from the vehicle by a family member. The woman was treated with Advanced Life Support interventions and taken to Kopanong hospital for further care. The driver of the other vehicle involved was assessed but declined treatment and transportation to hospital.
The Fire and Traffic departments were on scene for further investigation.
