Nigeria: Firm Harps On Coconut Investment, Holds Investors' Forum

A coconut plantation and processing promotion firm, First African Coconut Company, has perfected arrangements to hold a forum on businesses revolving around coconuts.

One of the promoters of the firm, Mr Anthonio John-Bede, said the time had come to drive the value chain development of the economic crop through intensification of its cultivation and value addition.

The forum would deliberate global views of coconut investment, its economic impact, its financing and return on investment.

The participants would also learn from experienced stakeholders specific export opportunities in coconut and its derivatives, the promoter said.

John-Bede said private and institutional investors, pension fund administrations, corporate farmers, retirees, universities, Nigerians in the diaspora, local, state and federal government representatives could attend the training scheduled to hold on April 25, at Four Point by Sheraton Hotel, Victoria, Island, Lagos.
