Angola: Toyota Opens New Investment in Angola

Luanda — The chairperson of the Japanese Toyota Tsusho Corporation group, Ichiro Kashitani, Thursday in Luanda expressed his interest in opening the investment to other sectors of the Angolan economy.

The head of one of the world's largest automakers made this revelation at the end of a meeting granted by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.

He added that the Toyota group is interested in contributing to Angola's growth, not only in the automotive sector, but in the areas of infrastructures and energy, as well as exploring other possibilities in which Japanese companies can bring new technologies for the integral development of the country.

Ichiro Kashitani added that this interest has not only to do with the development of the business sector, but also with human resources, specifically in multidisciplinary training.

For the chairperson of Toyota Tsusho Corporation, his mission to Angola is also to visit the rehabilitation project of the Port of Namibe in southern Angola.

The project is valued at 600 million dollars and is supported and funded by the government of Japan.
