Nigeria: Tribunal Hears Atiku's Application Disqualifying Bulkachuwa May 22

Abuja — The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal will on May 22 hear the application seeking its chairman/President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa, to recuse herself from proceedings in the complaints filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate in the February 23 polls, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Their lead counsel, Levi Uzoukwu (SAN), yesterday put in the request after the court resumed from a temporary stand down of proceedings for a meeting on the matter between the lawyers and the panel chair.When sitting resumed however, Justice Bulkachuwa told the court that a closed-door meeting was unnecessary since the public was already aware of the issue.
