Nigeria: Gunmen Abduct 2 Female Teenagers in Taraba

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted two female teenagers along Wukari-Takum Road in Taraba state.

Daily Trust gathered that the girls, aged 17 and 19, were travelling in a public transport from Wukari to Takum with other passengers and the gunmen blocked the road and forced the vehicle with the passengers into the forest.

A source in Wukari, Mallam Musa Chindo, told our reporter that the two girls were from Wukari and that the incident happened at Kufan Amadu, which he described as a nightmare to travellers plying the road because of the rate of kidnapping in the area.

The source further said other passengers and the vehicle were released.

He said the kidnappers had not contacted the parents of the girls; a development, he said which had raised tension among residents of Wukari.

The spokesman of the police in the state, DSP David Misal, could not be reach on phone.
