Nigeria: Ansar Ud-Deen Organises Ramadan Programme for Pupils in FCT

Ansar -Ud -Deen International School, Maitama, Abuja, has organised Ramadan programme for pupils of Islamic schools in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in a bid to promote the teaching and learning of Islamic Studies and Quranic recitation.

The four-hour event which held on Saturday was attended by pupils from over 10 schools across the territory.

A statement signed by Ibrahim M. Olawale, education consultant to the Ansar ud-deen, and made available to City News, noted that the month of Ramadan was for high spiritual activities by the Muslims world-wide.

"Muslims intensify high spiritual activities to mark the period in anticipation for greater reward from Allah. Children are not left out. In fact, the teaching and practice of Islam is mandated from the childhood," the statement added.

The chairman, Education Board of Ansar ud-deen, Dr. Imam Musa Olaofe welcomed representatives from various schools and congratulated them for being part of the occasion. He stressed that Quranic recitation was highly rewarded in this noble month as it attracted a lot of reward from Allah.

Pupils of Ansar-Ud-Deen International School made several presentations on Ramadan, pillars of Islam, articles of faith and other topical issues.
