South Africa: Dolly Relishing the Opportunity to Participate in Cosafa Cup

Bafana Bafana international Keagan Dolly has arrived in Durban to join the COSAFA Cup squad ahead of their quarterfinal match against Botswana this coming Sunday, 2 June.

Dolly who is a seasoned member of the senior team will participate in his maiden COSAFA Cup at the prospects of gaining match fitness as he tries to earn a spot in the South Africa 2019 AFCON squad.

Dolly has had an unfortunate season at his French based club Montpellier, after spending most of the season out due to injury.

Although he was called up to the Senior National team in the AFCON qualifier against Libya in March this year, Dolly was subsequently ruled unfit to play after straining a recovering injury. However he has now recovered and eager to play for the nation.

"Since the AFCON qualifier in March I have now played four matches with our reserve side, and have fully recovered from an injury that kept me out for most of the season. I am very happy to be in Durban to participate in my first ever COSAFA Cup. My family and I decided that it was important for me to be part of this team and I am grateful to the coaches for giving me this opportunity" said Dolly

"I believe I can bring something great to this team, while also work on gaining my match fitness in order to hopefully make the final AFCON squad next month".

Bafana Bafana will continue with preparations for their opening match of the COSAFA Cup against Botswana when they hold their second training session later today at Hoy Park, North Beach.
