Zambia: 6 Gang Cops Arrested

THE six Chingola police officers caught in the company of a gang that raided Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) Nchanga plant on Monday for scrap metal have been formally arrested.

Sources have told The Times the six were in the cells yesterday.

The group was part of a gang of men that was cornered by another police unit from Kamfinsa in Kitwe engaged by KCM to protect assets from thieves who had been trespassing on its property in Chingola. The six were armed and in regular police uniform when they were confronted by their Kamfinsa colleagues.
