South Africa: Child Protection Week - Aliwal North Cluster

Different stations in the Aliwal North Cluster continued with the Child Protection Week activities.

The SAPS together with victim support volunteers joined other departments including Department of Education, Health and Social Development in sharing messages with learners at different schools in the Cluster.

Sterkspruit visited Tapoleng JSS and Tienbank JSS. Palmietfontein went to Kwagcina and Makhumsha JSS.

The topics at the senior schools included the rights and responsibilities of children, social media awareness, rape, murder, abduction and drug abuse. Early pregnancy, children visiting Shebeens and dangerous weapons to School were also shared.

VENTERSTAD SAPS went to visit Khayamnandi and Kareefontein and also added bullying to the topics.

Floukraal visited Swempoort School and handed out sweets and school clothes to the needy children. The clothes were donated by the members at the station.

The Deputy Cluster Commander Colonel Mpho Rabela commended the stations on the positive initiatives in empowering our young children with knowledge.
