The power rationing that started last month has led many businesses and households to flock to buy generators. The generator market was met with a sudden increase in demand that was not anticipated and has seen a price surge of more than 50pc since power rationing was announced. Generator dealers argue that this is a very unusual situation that has led to the price surge, writes KALEAB GIRMA, FORTUNE STAFF WRITER.
