Uganda: Uneb Extends Deadline for Candidate Registration

The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has offered a new window for the late registration of candidates for this year's primary and secondary examinations.

The new window for late registration has now been pushed to June 30. This comes on the heels of the expiry of the normal registration period on May 31, 2019.

In the new registration window, students are also meant to verify their registration details from their index numbers, names to different subjects among the others.

VERIFICATION

To verify the registration status of students, UNEB rolled out different ways through which this can be done. The verification can be done by either the parents or the students.

Firstly, type Reg full index number and send to 6600. The SMS facility is only available to Airtel and MTN networks.

Parents can also use their smart phones with internet access and connect to https://ereg.uneb.ac.ug/regstatus. Thereafter, enter the candidate's full index number and click the search button. The registration details of the candidate including their photograph shall be displayed.

Last year, 671,923 candidates were registered for Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), 335,435 for Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) and 99,576 candidates for Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE).
