Liberian forward, Sam Johnson scored twice over the weekend as his club Real Salt Lake defeated Sporting Kansas City 2-0 at home in a Major League Soccer match at the Rio Tinto stadium.
RSL opened the scoring after Damir Kreilach played the ball from the right side of the 18-yard box with his right foot to Kyle Beckerman, who was inside the box who headed the ball to Sam Johnson that wasted no time but to get his foot on it to put his side in front over their Western conference rivals.
Johnson, who was inspiring for Real Salt Lake got his second of the match in the 29th minute after a defensive miscue from Sporting KC.
The goal however, was his seventh of the season for RSL.
It's was the first meeting of the season between RSL and Sporting KC.
With the win, RSL has now put to an end their three game winless run.
The club currently sits at 8 places on the MLS log with 23 points out of 27 league matches.
