South Africa: Man Killed in Alleged Hit-and-Run

Potchefstroom — A man, believed to be in his 30s, was killed last night in an alleged hit-and-run on Vanderbijl Road, approximately 1km from the Parys turnoff in Potchefstroom.

ER24 medics arrived on the scene at 19h16 to find the body of a man, believed to be in his 30s, lying in the left-hand lane.

Medics assessed the man and found that he had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead.

The vehicle in question was not found on the scene.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
