Nigeria: Kuje Council Boss Flays Communities Over Environmental Hygiene Conscious - Council Boss

The Chairman of Kuje Area Council, Abdullahi Suleiman Sabo, has said ensuring environmental hygiene is one of his priorities.

He said he would ensure that communities in the council remained safe and in a good hygienic condition.

Sabo, who speaking with newsmen while inspecting the evacuation of heaps of refuse at Kuje forest market in the area on Saturday, reiterated his administration's commitment to improving environmental hygiene in the council.

He maintained that he would ensure routine evacuation of waste in the council, noting that it was embarrassing to see that despite the proximity of Kuje to the city centre, there were heaps of refuse in various locations within the metropolis.

"Our environment is very dirty and this administration will not accommodate such. It is the responsibility of the government and all of us as citizens to ensure a clean and healthy environment," he said
