Somalia: Troop Movement, Flights Banned Ahead of Jubbaland Elections Tomorrow

The Jubbaland administration has announced stringent measures during the elections set for Thursday . On the election day, no flights will be allowed at the Kismayo Airport which was closed on Monday.

Troop movement has also been banned until after the elections. The annoucement is seen as wider plot by the regional government to avert external influence in the elections in which Sheikh Mohammed Madobe is defending his seat.
