Zambia: 15 Illegal Ndola Land Dealers Arrested

The Ndola City Council (NCC) has apprehended 15 people for illegal land allocation in Chichele forest.

Council public relations manager Tilyenji Mwanza said six illegal land dealers were apprehended on Friday last week while nine were apprehended on Monday this week.

In a statement released yesterday, Ms Mwanza said those arrested were found illegally allocating and subdividing land in the Chichele forest.

"The six individuals who were taken to Ndola Central Police will be charged with criminal trespass," she said.

Ms Mwanza further disclosed that the council demolished a house under construction in Dola hill after it was discovered that the developer was constructing without a building permit.
