Fighting corruption in South Africa is one of Government's key priorities. This priority is articulated in the National Development Plan (NDP) which tasks the country to develop a National Anti-Corruption Strategy (NACS) and a supporting implementation plan.
The NDP further states that fighting corruption should involve all members of the society. The Anti-Corruption Inter-Ministerial Committee (ACIMC) was established in 2014 with the mandate to coordinate and oversee the work of the state organs in combatting the scourge of corruption in public and private sector. The ACIMC is chaired by the Minister of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (DPME).
