Malawi: Demonstrator Gets 5 Years Ihl for Assaulting Police Officer

Lilongwe — Senior Resident Magistrate Court sitting at Mkukula in Lilongwe on Monday sentenced Wedson Mumba to 5 years Imprisonment for assaulting a police officer during demonstrations organized by Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC).

State prosecutor, Superintendent Patricio Filimoni told the court that the incident happened at Capital Hill on June 20, 2019.
