South Africa: Six Injured in Head-On Collision

19 September 2019

Diepsloot — Six people, including a mom and her two kids, have been injured in a head-on collision between two light motor vehicles at a 'Stop & Go' on the R114 outside Diepsloot late this afternoon.

ER24 paramedics arrived at 16:24 to find one vehicle up against a tree with three adults still seated inside and the other some way away with the family of three standing outside. Nurses from nearby had initiated treatment and this was of great help. The mom and her two young kids were treated for moderate injuries and transported by ER24 to a private hospital for further care. The driver of the other vehicle, a 38-year-old male, was also treated for moderate injuries and transported to a private hospital. The remaining two passengers, both adult males, were treated and transported to hospital by another service on the scene. The roads where the incident took place are believed to be under construction.

Metro Police were on the scene for further investigations.
