South Africa: Four Killed, Five Critical Following Bakkie Rollover

Fochville — Four men were killed and five others left critically injured this morning following a bakkie rollover on the R500, approximately 8km outside of Fochville.

ER24 paramedics, along with others services, arrived on the scene at 10h15 to find the bakkie upright in the one lane while the trailer was found upside down on the side of the road. Several men were found lying scattered around the scene.

Medics assessed the patients and found that four men had sustained numerous fatal injuries. Nothing could be done for them and they were declared dead.

Five other people were assessed, four men and a woman, and were found with numerous injuries and in a critical condition.

The patients were treated for their injuries and provided with advanced life support interventions. After treatment, one patient was airlifted by the ER24 Oneplan Helicopter while three others were airlifted by private medical helicopters.

The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
