Tunisia: Legislative Elections 2019 - No Injuries Due to Unintentional Gunfire in Sidi Mansour

Tunis/Tunisia — President of the Independent Regional Authority for the Elections in Sfax 1, Mohamed Hammami, told TAP on Sunday that the shooting from a security official's gun around 8:30 this morning in a polling station in Sidi Mansour was unintentional and did not affect the conduct of the electoral process.

For his part, Sfax court spokesman Mourad Turki said the gunshot occurred while the officer was handling his service weapon, adding that the incident did not injure or frighten voters who continued to perform their electoral duties.
