Botswana: Annual Gospel Awards Tomorrow

Gaborone — The stage is set for the 2019 edition of Annual Gospel Awards (AGA) billed for Ba Isago Convention Centre in Gaborone tomorrow.

The event, which is in its second edition, will be held under the theme; Tilling The Seed of Gospel Music Industry.

The brand activation manager, Letsweletse Moshabi said the awards were expected to draw huge gospel music fans from across the country as they also promise to be one of the biggest events in the gospel industry calendar locally.

He said their aim was to revive the waning gospel music genre by supporting gospel artistes, who were having it hard in the market to sell their music.

"The idea is to encourage Botswana gospel artistes to do their best and grow the gospel music industry and to produce music that can compete nationally and internationally. At AGA, we award excellence, we encourage gospel musicians to produce music that is of international standard for God's glory," he said.

In addition, he said the gospel artistes were not given much exposure. He said the gospel music industry in Botswana needed growth just like other music genres. Meanwhile, voting is ongoin for the 15 categories including for the best gospel legendary award and voting can be done at 17272.
