Angola: Trade Minister Attends Opening of Expo Shanghai 2019

Luanda — Angolan Trade minister, Joffre Van-Duném, attended Tuesday the opening ceremony of the second edition of the China International Import Fair (Expo Shanghai 2019), taking place from 5 to 10 November, in Shanghai City, China.

The ceremony was chaired by the Chinese Head of State, Xi Jinping, who in his speech gave assurance that foreign investors could easily access the local market.

The Angolan minister leads a delegation, which, besides members of Angola-China Chamber of Commerce, also includes businesspeople and representatives of some public companies.

The Angolan official also participated in the Economic and Commercial Forum, accompanied by the secretary of State for Fisheries, Carlos Cordeiro, and the Angolan ambassador accredited to the People's Republic of China, João Salvador dos Santos Neto.

On Thursday the "Invest Angola-China Forum" is scheduled to be held, in which the secretary of State for Agriculture, José Bettencourt, and the secretary of State for Fisheries, Carlos Cordeiro, will present the country's business opportunities in those sectors.

The Trade minister's agenda also includes a trip to Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province, to attend "China-Africa Cultural Exchange and Economic and Trade Cooperation Week 2019".
