Zimbabwe: UZ Get First Female SRC President After 67 Years

The University of Zimbabwe (UZ)'s Abiona Mataranyika (21) has made history by becoming the first female president of the Students' Representative Council (SRC) after her election early this month.

Mataranyika was backed by the Zimbabwe National Student Union (Zinasu) now associated with the opposition MDC and rivaled by the Zimbabwe Council of Students Union linked to the ruling Zanu PF party.
