Sixty government officials, including Copperbelt police Commissioner Charity Katanga, travelling from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) were involved in a road traffic accident due to a heavy downpour.
The driver of the bus lost control, forcing the coach to skid off the rain-slicked surface and hit into a tree.
All passengers escaped with minor injuries.
Copperbelt Minister Japhen Mwakalombe confirmed the incident in an interview yesterday.
Mr Mwakalombe said the delegation was part of a team that attended a Joint Regional Permanent Commission meeting in Katanga Province at the weekend.
