Zambia: UTH Commences Operation Preps On Kalumba

THE University Teaching Hospital (UTH) has commenced preparations to conduct an operation on four-year-old Edwina Kalumba of Ndola who is suffering from kyphoscolosis, a disease affecting the spinal cord.

Edwina of Chipulukusu has been left confined to a wheelchair since October 25, this year.

UTH director clinical care Alex Makupe said in an interview yesterday that the girl was in good hands at the hospital.

"Yes, the girl is with us and is admitted here in UTH and the consultant spinal surgeon has seen her already," he said.
