A two-day Sustaining Competitive and Responsible Enterprises (SCORE) training workshop for staff of the New Times Corporation (NTC) ended in Accra last Friday with a call on participants to replicate knowledge acquired to inure to the benefit of the corporation.
The focus of the workshop which was the Module Four of the programme specifically touched on Workforce Management for Cooperation and Business Success had participants selected drawn from Editorial, Security, Accounts, Marketing, and Human Resource.
In an address read on behalf of the Acting Managing Director, Mr Martin Adu-Owusu, the Editor of the Ghanaian Times, Mr David Agbenu, urged the staff to pay critical attention to information provided by the consultants that would enable them to develop succinct enterprise improvement ideas for the smooth implementation by management.
With this, he said it would enhance the fortune of the organisation, expressing his appreciation to the resource personnel for their dedication.
Mr John Wilson, Chief Executive Officer of SCORE and Mr Emmanuel Asomani, both International Labour Organisation (ILO) certified trainers took the participants through effective workforce management, factors affecting workforce management, and Human Resource Lifecycle among others.
The consultants urged the participants to transfer the knowledge acquired to other colleagues and consider some changes in drafting of their Enterprise Improvement Ideas for the benefit of the NTC.
The participants were grateful to management for such an initiative to build the capacity of workers for the growth of the corporation and promised to put the knowledge acquired to good use.
Since last year, the selected staff was taken through modules, One, two, three and four, which tackled workplace cooperation, quality management, clean production, and human resource management.
SCORE programme is a key element of the ILO's strategy for promoting sustainable enterprises.
