Angola Get First Victory

Kumamoto — The national team won their first game at the Women's Senior Handball World Championship, taking place in Kumamoto (Japan) against Slovenia 33-24.

In the third round match of Group A, played at the Aqua Dome pavilion, Angola were leading the score at halftime 16-12, in a match in which goalkeeper Helena Sousa was dominant, the first time she entered the opening seven in this competition in substitution of veteran Ba.

On Wednesday, 04, the African champions rest for the next day to face Norway for the fourth round.

In the first two matches, the national team lost to Serbia (25-32) and the Netherlands (28-35).
