Angola: Luanda Under "Blackout" Again

Luanda — For the second time, in less than 30 days, Luanda is again under a general power cut, due to sudden breakdown in the North and Central Interconnected System.

The capital city has been deprived of its power supply since 3:44 pm on Monday.

The reasons for the breakdown are still unknown.

A source from the Ministry of Energy and Water reports that the problem led to a cut in supply throughout the North and Central Interconnected System, which supply ten provinces.

The last general power cut in Luanda took place on 20 November, due to a short circuit in the Cazenga substation.
