Somalia: Heavy Gunfire Heard in Somali Capital, Mogadishu

Heavy gunfire was heard on Tuesday evening in Mogadishu amidst tight security measures in the country's capital, police said.

The sources said gunmen thought to be Al-Shabaab militants engaged in an intense firefight with the security forces of Hotel SYL as they try to storm the building.

The hotel is located in the vicinity of the president palace, Villa Somalia which houses the country's top leaders, including the president and PM.
