Zambia: Teacher Faces Attempted Murder Charge for Setting Boyfriend Ablaze

THE FEMALE teacher of Ndola arrested for dousing her boyfriend in petrol and setting him ablaze has been charged with attempted murder by police in Solwezi.

In Kitwe, a 22-year-old Lusaka maid accused of stealing a six-month-old baby from her employers has been handed over to Lusaka police.

In the Solwezi incident, teacher Mirriam Chileshe faces a charge of attempted murder after allegedly setting ablaze her boyfriend Jeremiah Mbawa in a row over what to do to about her pregnancy.

North-Western Province police Commissioner Hudson Namachila confirmed the charge in an interview yesterday.
