Zambia: Only 24 Tonnes Gold Produced in Zambia From 2017 - Wina

VICE-PRESIDENT Inonge Wina has told Parliament that more than 24,000 kg of gold has been produced by four mining companies in Zambia from 2017 to February 2019.

Ms Wina told Parliament, however, that it was difficult to be exact about the figure because too much illegal mining of gold was happening all over the country.

She said this in response to a question from Mbala Member of Parliament Mwalimu Simfukwe who wanted to know whether there were companies mining gold in the country as of February 2019.
