South Africa: Police Hunt for Murder and Robbery Suspects

SAPS Mount Road detectives are seeking any information with regard to a murder and robbery that took place on Monday afternoon, 13 January 2020.

It is alleged that on Monday, 13 January 2020 at approximately 13:00, three males were in a Quantum minibus en-route to a bank at a shopping mall. While stationary at the robots at the corners of CJ Langenhoven and Norvic Drive, they were confronted by six suspects, three on each side of the mini bus. One was armed with a fire arm. One suspect opened the driver's side door and demanded the money. None of the occupants responded to the demand and a shot was fired injuring Abdul Kieran Haroon (35) in his chest. The passenger next to the deceased handed over an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspects fled on foot and the driver rushed the injured Haroon to the nearby hospital where he passed away. It was later established that the trio were driving from Korsten to the bank to deposit money.
