The National Unity Democratic Organisation has publicly called on its members to vote for the Landless People's Movement candidates in the upcoming regional authority by-elections.
National Unity Democratic Organisation (Nudo) secretary general, Joseph Kauandenge, announced in a statement that, "it is high time for opposition parties to join hands and leave behind the politics of egotism, self-righteousness and plain stupidity and support each other".
"We are, therefore, urging all our supporters to go out in numbers and go vote for the LPM candidates across all four constituencies. We cannot remain mere spectators in the game of politics while our future is decided on a dinner table," said Kauandenge.
He added that the people face similar problems irrespective of their political affiliation and called on opposition party leaders to always put the interest and wellbeing of the people above everything else.
Nudo's stance comes hot on heels of a call by Landless People's Movement (LMP) urging its supporters in the Walvis Bay Urban Constituency to vote for Knowledge Ipinge, one of the independent candidates.
Apart from LPM, Popular Democratic Movement and an independent candidate no other opposition parties are challenging the regional council positions that were occupied by members of the ruling Swapo Party.
