Namibia: Swapo Wins Khomasdal Constituency By-Election

SWAPO Party candidate, Angolo Samuel, won the Khomasdal Constituency by-election on Wednesday night, ahead of candidates from the Landless People Movement (LPM), Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) and SWANU of Namibia.

A total number of 2104 votes were cast, with Angolo securing 1227, followed by Baumgartner Mara Bonita of the LPM with 349 votes, while Diergaardt Raymond Reginald of PDM scored 326 votes and Kauahuma Tjounomuinjo for SWANU of Namibia received 202 votes.

Electoral Commission of Namibia Returning officer, Tertu Ashilungu, declared Angolo as the winner and said that the election went well, without major problems being reported at the 15 polling stations.
